Select compatible containers and codecs and control resolution, bitrate, FPS, channels and sample rate.

10

Download or save to Cloud

Generate a readable output filename, download the result or store it as a new versioned Cloud resource.

Operational detail

How File transformation works in practice

The transformer builds a safe operation catalogue from the real source format, the number of selected files and the processing engines available for that category.

Source selection by real type

Choose a type and optional subtype first; the shared Cloud selector then shows only compatible files and prevents mixed batches that cannot be processed together.

Actions adapted to the selection

Single-file and multi-file operations are distinguished automatically, so merge, split, extraction or conversion only appear when their input requirements are met.

Format-specific parameters

Output controls change with the chosen format and can include quality, compression, dimensions, pages, sheets, codecs, bitrate, channels or encoding.

Non-destructive processing

The source is retained. The generated result is a separate file that can be reviewed and downloaded before deciding whether to save it to Cloud.

Readable and traceable results

Output names reuse the original filename and add a timestamp, making downloaded and stored results easier to identify.

Same catalogue across workflows

Compatible output formats are reused by File Transformer, transformed downloads and the multimedia studios to avoid contradictory export choices.

Technical information

Inputs, results, and work continuity

Supported inputs

Compatible images, PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, text, data, video, and audio.

Results and export

Converted, optimised, split, merged, extracted, or packaged files.

Work continuity

The original is retained and each result can be downloaded or saved as a new Cloud item.

Limits and requirements

  • Batch operations only accept compatible files of the same type.
  • Actions depend on ImageMagick, LibreOffice, FFmpeg, Ghostscript, Poppler, or OCR according to the format.
  • Heavy processes run in the background and expose status, progress, and errors.

Privacy and data

  • The original file is not replaced; the result is stored as a separate resource.
  • New resources remain private until their visibility is changed.
  • Temporary files are used only during processing, and the result remains associated with the account.

Integration and automation

  • The API creates, reads, and manages Cloud resources with account credentials.
  • Transformed downloads reuse the formats supported by File Transformer.
  • Webhooks report relevant changes and retain deliveries, responses, and retries.

Plans and usage

  • A result only uses storage when it is saved to Cloud.
  • Operations use the effective configured tariff; an estimate is shown before execution when applicable.
Frequently asked questions

Questions about File transformation

No. It creates a new result that you can download or save to Cloud without replacing the source, unless you explicitly choose a versioning operation.

The catalogue is calculated from the selected file type, subtype, extension, and number of files so that incompatible operations are not offered.

Yes. A result saved to Cloud can be used later in editors, selectors, sharing flows, and further transformations.

Each output format supports different capabilities. For example, transparency, lossless compression, video codecs or spreadsheet options only appear when the selected format can use them.

The operation is not offered or returns a specific processing error. The source file remains unchanged and no incomplete result is saved.
