Description

Step-by-step wizard that proposes valid operations for one or more Cloud files without modifying the original ones. The catalog changes according to type, subtype, extension, number of files and software available.

How to create the service

Open up.Cloud > New element > File Transformer You can also enter from Properties > Transform or from Share > Download When opened from a file, type and subtype are fixed and the resource is preselected.

Interface and controls

The step Files select type, subtype and Cloud resources from the same group.Action displays a selection-compatible card catalog and moves forward by choosing one.Parameters contains only the options of that operation. Headers allow you to go back to previous steps. The end buttons generate and download or generate and save in Cloud.

Full workflow

  1. Select type and, where it exists, subtype.
  2. Choose one or more supported files; everyone must comply with the operation.
  3. Select a single action from the available catalog.
  4. Configure formatting, pages, quality, dimensions, codecs or other parameters.
  5. Generates the result and waits for the completion of the work.
  6. Download it or save it as a new Cloud file and review the result.

Supported files or data

Work with TXT, Markdown and HTML;CSV, TSV, JSON and XML;DOC, DOCX, ODT and RTF;XLS, XLSX and ODS;PPT, PPTX and ODP;PDF; recorded images; the fifteen formats of the video catalog and the ten audio formats. Tablets can be generated for multiple results, but are not supported as direct upload or as a general source of transformation.

Configuration options

Generic vector graphics support SVG, SVGZ, EPS, PS, EMF and WMF as inputs. They can be converted to SVG, PDF, PNG, JPG, WebP or TIFF, rasterized, resized, cropped, placed on a canvas, optimized, inspected and rendered as thumbnails. SVG/SVGZ active content and external references are removed before storage.

The options depend on the action: format and quality; pages, slides, sheets or columns; order and ranges; size, crop, rotation and background; delimiter, encoding and headers; search, replacement, validation and deduplication; codec, bitrate, FPS, frequency, channels and times; OCR, metadata, protection or watermarks.

Output and export formats

For legacy DOC documents, structural actions temporarily normalize the file to DOCX to support merging, splitting, search, comparison, protection, templates, optimization and extraction. PDF actions also include PDF/A, text comparison, margin cropping, bookmark export/update/removal, heuristic table extraction to XLSX, and adding, extracting or removing attachments.

The output is limited to formats compatible with each operation. It can be a single file or a ZIP when multiple results are generated, e.g. pages, images or segments. Image, video and audio catalogs are the same as those used in their editors and Share > Download.

Saving, downloading and sharing

Generate and Download uses the original name with date and time.Generate and save to Cloud creates a private file service and temporarily disables the button to avoid duplicates. Originals remain intact. The result can be managed, versioned, downloaded or shared from Cloud.

Limits and technical requirements

Actions may require FFmpeg/FFprobe, ImageMagick, LibreOffice, Ghostscript, Poppler, QPDF, PDFtk, Tesseract, PHP extensions and PhpOffice libraries. The server displays only available actions. There are limits by upload size, storage, memory, time, number of files and complexity of the process.

Common errors

  • There are no actions: checks extension, number of files, which are of the same type and installed dependencies.
  • A PDF is not rendered: checks Poppler/Ghostscript, configured paths and that the PDF is not corrupted or encrypted.
  • LibreOffice does not convert: validates that soffice is executable, has permission to run and can write to the temporary directory.
  • FFmpeg rejects codec: selects a compatible combination or installs a compilation that includes it.

Privacy and data processing

The files are processed in the configured infrastructure and can be copied temporarily during the transformation. The temporary files must be deleted at the end. Do not send sensitive documents to external services unless the installation indicates and there is an appropriate legal basis.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is the original overwritten? No, a derivative result is always created or downloaded.
  • Why does he change the catalog? It is calculated from extension, number of files and tools available.
  • Can I mix guys? No; a joint operation requires compatible files of the same type or subtype.
