Operational detail

How Import from other clouds works in practice

External cloud import copies selected resources directly into Apification while preserving the provider source and applying the same validation used for local uploads.

Scoped provider connection

Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox are connected through OAuth permissions intended for browsing and importing the resources authorised by the user.

Browse before copying

Navigate provider folders, search the available content and select one or several files without first downloading them to the device.

Choose the Cloud destination

Imported files enter the current Apification folder so they can be organised correctly from the start of the transfer.

Validation and detailed failures

Each file is checked against upload rules and reports authentication, permission, size, format or provider errors separately.

Source remains untouched

Import creates a private copy in Apification; renaming, transforming or deleting that copy does not alter the original held by the provider.

Ready for the ecosystem

After import, real type classification makes the file available to previews, editors, versions, sharing and compatible transformations.

Technical information

Limits and requirements

  • Each Cloud provider needs OAuth credentials configured by the platform.
  • Users can only browse files authorised by the external provider.
  • Maximum size depends on the extension and the limits configured for the account.

Privacy and data

  • OAuth limits access to the accepted scope and can be revoked by disconnecting the account.
  • The original file is not replaced; the result is stored as a separate resource.
  • New resources remain private until their visibility is changed.

Integration and automation

  • Google Drive connects through OAuth with folder browsing.
  • OneDrive connects through OAuth with folder browsing.
  • Dropbox connects through OAuth with folder browsing.

Plans and usage

  • The imported copy uses storage; the original remains with the provider.
  • Operations use the effective configured tariff; an estimate is shown before execution when applicable.
Frequently asked questions

Questions about Import from other clouds

No. It copies the selected resource into Apification Cloud and leaves the original with the external provider.

The first version integrates Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Dropbox through OAuth authorisation.

The process records a specific authentication, permission, size, format, or provider error so it can be diagnosed.

No. Disconnecting revokes the connection used for future browsing and imports; copies already stored in Apification remain in their destination folders.

Yes. Imports are tracked per file, so valid resources can complete while another reports a specific permission, size, format or provider error.
