Description

Service to create editable PPTX presentations using ONLYOFFICE Docs. Organize slide content and keep the file and its history within Cloud.

How to create the service

Select Cloud > New element > Presentation, assigns name and folder and creates service. An empty PPTX is generated and opens ONLYOFICE. Uploaded PPT, PPTX and ODP files can be managed or transformed according to enabled applications.

Interface and controls

ONLYOFICE displays thumbnails of slides, canvas, notes and tools for startup, insertion, design, transitions, collaboration and presentation. The Apification header offers navigation and full screen. Name, users, versions, download and transformation are managed from Cloud.

Full workflow

  1. Defines format, theme and structure of the presentation.
  2. Create, duplicate, sort or delete slides.
  3. Add text, shapes, images, tables, graphs and notes.
  4. Check fonts, alignment, transitions, and aspect ratio.
  5. Waits for backup confirmation and tests playback.
  6. Download PPTX or convert to PDF, ODP or images.

Supported files or data

The created presentation uses PPTX. Transformer admits PPT, PPTX and ODP. You can incorporate images and multimedia compatible with ONLYOFFICE; externally linked resources may not be retained in conversions or downloads.

Configuration options

Includes slide size and orientation, theme, background, designs, fonts, text, shapes, images, tables, charts, notes and transitions. The Transformer adds union, division, rearrangement, extraction, removal, compression of resources, watermarks, numbering, templates, substitution of fonts and images and export of notes.

Output and export formats

The main editable is PPTX. Conversions allow PPTX, PPT, ODP, PDF and images by slide; some actions generate DOCX or PDF with notes and ZIP when producing multiple files.

Saving, downloading and sharing

ONLYOFFICE saves via callback and Application can retain a previous version. Download the original PPTX or a transformation from Share. Manage access with Users and avoid publishing a link when the presentation contains internal information.

Limits and technical requirements

Requires ONLYOFFICE Document Server. Advanced conversions and operations use LibreOffice, PhpPresentation, PhpWord, Poppler and PDF tools as the case may be. Uninstalled sources, animations, videos, embedded objects and complex transitions can be altered.

Common errors

  • The design changes: installs the sources used and checks non-compatible elements.
  • A video is not played: insert it in a compatible format or replace it with a controlled link.
  • Not stored: review callback, JWT and ONLYOFFICE connectivity.
  • No images are generated: Check LibreOffice and the PDF rasterizer.

Privacy and data processing

The file is temporarily processed in ONLYOFFICE and remains in Cloud storage. Check presenter notes, metadata and hidden slides before sharing or exporting, because they may contain unvisible information during the presentation.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I turn each slide into an image? Yes, with the corresponding action of the Transformer.
  • Are all animations preserved? It is not guaranteed between PPT, PPTX, ODP and PDF.
  • Slider and Presentation are the same? No; Presentation edits PPTX and Slider publishes a web sequence of images.
